Full Description: Fasting is one of the unique moral and spiritual characteristics of Islam. By the introduction of this matchless institution Islam has planted an evergrowing tree of infinite virtues and valuable products. The main object of the observance of fast in to inculcate within the hearts of Muslims, resemblance of being Samad, one of the attributes of Allah. It means that a Muslim should be independent of all needs. The spirit of the observer of fast is released from the clutches of desires and temptations and thus the goal of  purification of soul and eternal felicity can be acquired. It aims at curtailing the intensity of evil passions of a man and restraining his organs from turning towards those things which may cause havoc in his spiritual life. Fasting is the bridle of the God - conscious, the shield of the crusaders an effective means of discipline. It guards against indulgence in evil deeds. It is most efficacious for the reformation of heart which is an essential factor to develop the good qualities like piety, single-minded devotion, repentance and inner tranquility. The observer of fast should refrain from excessive eating, unnecessary conversation and volubility which are likely to upset his composure and serenity and make him drift from the straight path. Fasting strengthens man's morality and self - control and deepens in him the consciousness of the Lord. Unlike other religious fasting in Islam does not aim at inflicting unbearable privations upon its followers. The underlying idea behind is to impart moral training. It does not train a person for complete renunciation but for perfect and cheerful obedience to Allah. Islam has laid down various injunctions for the performance of this obligation. The real spirit of fasting demands of us that we should strictly follow all regulations pertaining to it for the attainment of perfection in fasting. I have tried my best  to present all the relevant rules, regulations and prohibitions in the form of this treatise. I beseech Allah to make the contents of this book beneficial for the readers so that they may derive genuine benefit from it.

I implore Allah to accept this humble effort of mine and make it provision for me, my parents and my brothers in the Hereafter.

The readers are requested to inform me of the shortcomings of this book so that these may be corrected in the subsequent edition.
